The Fourth Mediterranean Emergency Medicine Congress (MEMC IV) - 15-19 September 2007 - Sorrento, Italy

Invitation to Support

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great excitement that we invite you to support and attend the Fourth Mediterranean Emergency Medicine Congress (MEMC IV) to be held 15-19 September 2007 at the Hilton Sorrento Palace in Sorrento, Italy.

MEMC IV is the collaborative effort of the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM), the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM), and this year, La Società Italiana di Medicina d'Emergenza-Urgenza (SIMEU). The mission of the Congress is to promote the practice of Emergency Medicine throughout the world and to provide a forum for information exchange.

We hope to build on the success of the Third MEMC in Nice, France in 2005 where nearly 1,200 delegates from 57 countries attended sessions by world-renowned speakers. Historically, this Congress has been considered by delegates to be the best Emergency Medicine conference they've attended and the "turning point" for the development of Emergency Medicine around the world.

The format of the scientific programme includes multiple tracks that cover clinical, procedural, administrative, research, and educational topics. The financial support for the Congress comes from a variety of sources, though at all times the educational programme remains totally independent of all external influences.

On behalf of the Presidents of the Congress, it is our pleasure to invite national Emergency Medicine societies around the world to endorse the Congress and to join us as Supporting Societies.

Supporting Societies do not carry any of the financial risk or liability for this Congress. As a Supporting Society of the Congress, your organisation will be able to select a delegate to represent your country as an invited speaker and give a presentation on the current state of Emergency Medicine in your Country or on issues confronting emergency care delivery in your country, at the discretion of the Track Chairs.

We also welcome you to officially provide suggestions for the programme to the Scientific and Executive Committees. We will also make a firm attempt to involve individuals you recommend in the programme as speakers, track directors and moderators.

Supporting Societies would be promptly added to the list of Societies in the Organisation of this Congress on this website and will appear on the second announcement, in the proceedings and in the syllabus. A website link would be provided to the website of your organisation.

Most importantly, all your members would be able to register for the Congress at a discounted rate of €500, provided only to Supporting Society members. This represents a €100 discount off the non-member rate of €600. You can then promote such a discounted registration to your members as an additional membership benefit for your Society.

In return, we ask of Supporting Societies to:

  • commit to distributing our preliminary announcements by regular mail to their members.
  • link your website to www.emcongress.org and to post prominently on your website a message announcing your sponsorship/leadership role in MEMC IV.
  • provide to MEMC staff a list of your membership to assure that your members receive the reduced registration rates to which they are entitled as members of a Supporting Society as well as approximately 8 e-newsletters with updates on the Congress programme and important deadlines.
  • Last but not least, we ask that you advertise free of charge the Congress in a way that prominently features your sponsorship at least twice in your organisation's newsletter or journal, in the next 6 months.

We wish to thank you for your consideration of our offer and for your leadership role in promoting Emergency Medicine. We are most appreciative for any support you can provide promoting our Congress to your members and contacts and to facilitate their participation to the Congress and its research forum.

We will truly appreciate any alternative collaboration terms and/or any particular ideas and proposals you may wish to offer.

We look forward to your kind reply at info@emcongress.org. We look forward to meeting you in Sorrento and deeply appreciate your consideration.
